EXPRESS IGCSE/ O LEVEL TUITION PROGRAMME

HONSBRIDGE LOWER PROGRAMME (AGE 12-14)

Start studying for your IGCSE/ O Level exams in March 2014. This programme combines high quality language tuition with subject teaching and is designed for students leading to their exams in three* to four years. The programme consists of building a firm foundation in English, Mathematics, Science followed by an exam oriented study pathway to the IGCSE/ O Level exams in May or October / November annually.

Students typically need five IGCSE/ O Level exams at grades A to C to be sure of a place in the higher education of a good college. At the end of the programme, students can begin studying for programmes such as A-levels, the International Baccalaureate (IB), Southern Australian Matriculation (SAM), Canadian Matriculation Programme (CPU), or even American Degree Programme (ADP).

ENTRY LEVEL Entry level:  Year 7 (Age 12+)
Duration to complete O Level/ IGCSE: 4 years
Exam date: Oct/Nov 2018


Entry level:  Year 8 (Age 13+)
Duration to complete O Level/ IGCSE:  3 years 
Exam date:  Oct / November 2017


Entry level: Year 10 (Age 14+ to 15)
Duration to complete O Level/ IGCSE:  1.5 to 2 years 
Exam date:  May/ June or Oct / Nov 2015


Entry level: Year 11 (Age 15+ to 16)
Duration to complete O Level/ IGCSE:  10 months 
Exam date:  Oct / Nov 2014



ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Honsbridge provides an alternative to Secondary education via our Fast Track O Level/ IGCSE tuition programme that students may complete and be prepared for the examinations in less than four (4) years* after UPSR / CIPAT / SAT-Year 6 .

Admission into Year 7 – Term 1 
Intake: Oct 1, 2014 (6 terms) 
Student must have achieved a minimum grade B or equivalent for English, Mathematics and Science in the UPSR / CIPAT / SAT – Year 6 AND student must achieve a minimum score of 55% for Honsbridge Aptitude Test.*
* Students who do not meet entry requirements will be consider on a case to case basis.

* Limited to 16 students per class only. 
* Ongoing-registration till September 1, 2014.

Admission into Express Pre-O Level Programme leading Cambridge O Level Exam in 2017

Level:  Year 7
Intake: 31 Mar, 2014 (approx. 3.5 terms)
This is a special intake for students who have completed Year 7 / Form 1 in 2014 and subjective to academic performance. Student must sit for Honsbridge Aptitude Test (Year 7) and MUST achieve a minimum score of 55% for all subjects. Please bring along all relevant results and academic report for further assessment.




Admission into Express O Level Programme leading to Cambridge O level Exam in May/ June or Oct/ Nov 2015
Level:  Year 10
Intake: 6 January, 2014 (approx. 5 terms to 6.4 terms)
This is a special intake for students who have completed Form 2 or Form 3 / Year 8 in 2013 and subjective to academic performance. Student must sit for Honsbridge Aptitude Test (Year 8) and MUST achieve a minimum score of 55% for all subjects. Please bring along all relevant results and academic report for further assessment.




CURRICULUM & SYLLABUS

Cambridge IGCSE and O Level
Honsbridge curriculum covers all topics and substantial problem sums, questions and activities according to Cambridge syllabus. Revisions of many past year’s questions on all subjects that are tested in Cambridge O Level / IGCSE are introduced from the beginning of Upper Secondary Programme. This provides our students ample opportunity and practice to work on popular examination questions as well as able to tackle questions with ease and score the marks they truly deserve!
Honsbridge aims to provide quality and comprehensive tuition via our Express O Level/ IGCSE tuition programme that students may complete and be prepared for the examinations in less than four (4) years* after UPSR / CIPAT / SAT-Year 6.

Subjects offered for Lower Secondary Programme (Year 7 to Year 9)
All students will study the following subjects leading to Upper Secondary in 3.5 to 6 terms (1.2 to 2 years). Students may complete the Upper Secondary programme within 6 terms or less (2 years or less*).

Note: There are three terms in an academic year. Honsbridge observes the British term time, namely January, April and August. During the term time, student must observe the timetable and comply with Academy’s rules and regulation as a student at Honsbridge. * Student must be punctual for all lessons and treat all peers and teachers with respect. Enrichment programmes are organised for all students in our Express O Level/ IGCSE Tuition Programme and it is compulsory for students to participate unless otherwise advised by the parents. There will be End-term tests and short quizzes throughout the term time, as well as Parents & Teachers Review will be held every term before start of a new term.

EXPRESS IGCSE/ O LEVEL UPPER PROGRAMME (AGE 14 TO 16)

In Jan 2014, the student will study English and Mathematics along with three or more chosen subjects leading to IGCSE/ O Level exams in four to six terms.

APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

For assessment and application:
1. Aptitude Test of RM100 (if applicable)

Please call 017-3312 113 to arrange for an Aptitude test on every Friday / Saturday between 9am to 12pm. *  All Aptitude test must be confirmed in advance. Student must also bring along their school report card / result and Identification card/ Birth certificate for registration.

To register for Honsbridge Lower O Level programme, please bring along:
1. A completed Honsbridge Application form
2. A Registration fee of RM500 (one-time)
3. A copy of all recent examination results/ Academic report / Report card / UPSR/ PMR / AOP
4. 2 passport-sized photographs
