EXPRESS IGCSE/ O LEVEL TUITION PROGRAMME
HONSBRIDGE LOWER PROGRAMME (AGE 12-14)

Start studying for your IGCSE/ O Level exams in July or August 2011. This programme combines high quality language tuition with subject teaching and is designed for students leading to their exams in three* to four years. The programme consists of building a firm foundation in English, Mathematics, Science followed by an exam oriented study pathway to the IGCSE/ O Level exams in May/ June, 2014 or October / November, 2014.

Students typically need five IGCSE/ O Level exams at grades A to C to be sure of a place in the higher education of a good college. At the end of the programme, students can begin studying for programmes such as A-levels, the International Baccalaureate (IB), Southern Australian Matriculation (SAM), Canadian Matriculation Programme (CPU), or even American Degree Programme (ADP).

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Honsbridge provides an alternative to Secondary education via our Fast Track O Level/ IGCSE tuition programme that students may complete and be prepared for the examinations in less than four (4) years* after UPSR / CIPAT / SAT-Year 6 .

Admission into Year 7 – Term 1
Intake: August 15, 2011 | October 1, 2011 [LIMITED TO 15 PLACES]
Student must have achieved a minimum grade B or equivalent for English, Mathematics and Science in the UPSR / CIPAT / SAT – Year 6 AND student must achieve a minimum score of 55% for Honsbridge Aptitude Test.*
* Students who do not meet entry requirements will be consider on a case to case basis.

Admission into Year 7 – Term 3
Intake: July 4, 2011 (approx. 4 terms)

This is a special intake for students who wish to join the group which have started in January 2011 subjective to a few conditions. Student must sit for Honsbridge Aptitude Test and to achieve a minimum score of 55% for all subjects. Please bring along all relevant results and academic report for further assessment.

CURRICULUM & SYLLABUS

Cambridge IGCSE and O Level
Honsbridge curriculum covers all topics and substantial problem sums, questions and activities according to Cambridge syllabus. Revisions of many past year’s questions on all subjects that are tested in Cambridge O Level / IGCSE are introduced from the beginning of Upper Secondary Programme. This provides our students ample opportunity and practice to work on popular examination questions as well as able to tackle questions with ease and score the marks they truly deserve!
Honsbridge aims to provide quality and comprehensive tuition via our Express O Level/ IGCSE tuition programme that students may complete and be prepared for the examinations in less than four (4) years* after UPSR / CIPAT / SAT-Year 6.

Subjects offered for Lower Secondary Programme
On the July 4, 2011 the student will study the following subjects leading to Upper Secondary in 5 terms (1.7 years). Students may complete the Upper Secondary programme within 4* to 6 terms (2 years or less*).

Note: There are three terms in an academic year. Honsbridge observes the British term time, namely January, April and August. During the term time, student must observe the timetable and comply with Academy’s rules and regulation as a student at Honsbridge. * Student must be punctual for all lessons and treat all peers and teachers with respect. Enrichment programmes are organised for all students in our Express O Level/ IGCSE Tuition Programme and it is compulsory for students to participate unless otherwise advised by the parents. There will be End-term tests and short quizzes throughout the term time, as well as Parents & Teachers Review before start of a new term.

EXPRESS IGCSE/ O LEVEL UPPER PROGRAMME (AGE 14 TO 16)

In Jan / April 2013, the student will study English and Mathematics along with three or more chosen subjects leading to IGCSE/ O Level exams in four to six terms.

To register for Honsbridge Lower O Level programme, please bring along:
1. A completed Honsbridge Application form
2. A Registration fee of RM500 (one-time)
3. A copy of all recent examination results/ Academic report / Report card / UPSR
4. 2 passport-sized photographs

Invitation To Register Pre- O Level Workshop For students Aged 11yrs old to 13yrs old.

The workshop is suitable for parents and students who wish to find out the dynamic learning opportunity that Honsbridge provides for students age 12 and above (Year 7 to 8 /9 or Form 1 to Form 3).

Now, students will have the opportunity to meet and also to be taught by our team of passionate teachers! There will be:

  • Academic lesson
  • Speech & Drama
  • Science Experiment
  • Short Quizzes

It will be a fun learning experience for students. They will get to experience the British way of teaching and grooming students to be a confident and an independent learner through class interaction, experiments, presentation and visual and tactile stimuli.

Itinerary for the Workshop

9am-10am with Mr David on English
10am-11am with Ms Emma on Math or Mr Dom on History
11am - 12pm with Ms Dana on Science

Pre O Level Workshop Fee: RM200 per student. The fee includes notes, role play, student presentation and science experiments.

Please note that the registration fee of RM50 is waived if student enrols for the Workshop before the 6 Jun 2011. Please enquire online for application form and relevant documents required for application.
