On 25 th of January, Honsbridge International is on fire as our fellow Honnets celebrate the Year of the Fire Rooster. The Honnets get their cluck on as they party and participate in various activities & competition. First off, there was a costume competition between Honnets of different houses. The Honnets parade a rainbow of costume designs adhering to the Chinese New Year in front of the judging audience. In the end, Green House won. Next, there was as a Mandarin Orange Peeling Race. Here, this race consists of teams of three Honnets, each Honnet with their own specific task; one to peel the oranges; one to eat them; and the last one must arrange peels into Chinese letters. Parents-Teacher meeting at Honsbridge

On the 14 th of January 2017, Honsbridge teachers and staff held a Parents-Teacher meeting with the parents of our fellow Honnets. The parents were here to discuss the Honnets’ success in our school and also their future. Our teachers praise the hard work and dedication by the Honnets in their studies; at the same time, the teachers and parents gave each other suggestions on how to improve the Honnets further in their studies, like how to encourage good study habits among the students and how to prepare for exams. The Honnets, who went along with their parents, listen attentively to their parents & teachers as they discuss important issues about their future in and after Honsbridge. At the end of the meeting, every parent were given butter cookies & mandarin oranges. We at Honsbridge hope to build more bridges with our fellow Honnets through their parents in helping them carve a better, brighter future for themselves.

It’s been slow right now, but things are picking up as we welcome the new term, new students and a new beginning for Honsbridge. Honsbridge will be anticipating many exciting events in these first months, including the Chinese New Year and Thaipusam. Honnets will soon be having Sports Day this March which includes an interhouse dodgeball within the school, cheerleading, captain’s ball, futsal, badmintion, running and competition with our rival, Stellar Academy. There’s an ongoing lucky draw, and coming soon, K-pop & Zumba dance classes. These classes will encourage Honnets to get fit and healthy as they dance to top K-pop hits and high-octane music. The Honnets resolve to study harder and focus further on their lessons, while the H
