CNY 2017 IS LIT AT HONSBRIDGE

On 25th of January, Honsbridge International is on fire as our fellow Honnets celebrate the Year of the Fire Rooster. The Honnets get their cluck on as they party and participate in various activities & competition.
First off, there was a costume competition between Honnets of different houses. The Honnets parade a rainbow of costume designs adhering to the Chinese New Year in front of the judging audience. In the end, Green House won.

Next, there was as a Mandarin Orange Peeling Race. Here, this race consists of teams of three Honnets, each Honnet with their own specific task; one to peel the oranges; one to eat them; and the last one must arrange peels into Chinese letters. Hope the one eating the oranges didn’t get sick of them later on.

After that, there was a Lou Sang Tossing competition where each team of Honnets must toss & eat the Lou Sang quickly within an allotted time. The teachers are also involved in the Lou Sang. Lots of luck were bestowed upon the contestants for this year as they toss the Lou Sang.

Finally, a Calligraphy competition where teams of Honnets must write out Chinese characters & letters with brush & black ink that spells out luck and prosperity for the New Year.
Oh, and there are food and noise involved.

The celebrations end with our Principal, Mrs Emma, giving out red pockets or angpows to fellow Honnets and wishing them good cluck in their studies.
We too at Honsbridge wish you good cluck and good fortune this festive Year of the Rooster.
