CHRISTMAS IS HERE. HONNETS GIVE CHEERS

Christmas has arrived early this 22nd November as Honsbridge approaches the last school holiday of 2016. The day before, the Honnets have helped in adorning the school with ornaments, presents, Christmas trees and other decorations, as well as some creative takes such as a snowmen made from plastic bottles and a huge snowman made entirely of paper.

By morning on 22nd November, the Honnets began their Christmas fun starting by playing Human Chess. This chess lets Honnets be chess pieces as they move and strategize along a large chessboard. The Human Chess aims to test Honnets on their mental and strategic skills while they are having fun playing the game.
Next, the Honnets participate in a Christmas play, in which a rich, spoiled family adopted an orphan. The orphan, who has been bullied by his stepsiblings, ran away in tears, only to be visited by Santa Claus. Taking pity on the poor orphan, Santa Claus grants the orphan grants the orphan his wish for his adopted family to be kinder to him. The orphan went home the next day and found himself embraced by his kinder and gentler family. The End. The moral that Honnets learned is that kindness and charity leads to a happier, more prosperous family.
Soon after that, it’s gift time, as Honnets await to receive presents from their Secret Santa, taking pictures with the gift and the teachers along the way. Teachers also participate and receive gifts from their Secret Santa later that day. (This writer gets a foldable stool, by the way. Better than nothing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .

Meanwhile, one of our fellow teachers, Mrs. Esmai, alongside her fellow Honnets, Nivee, Firzana and Siobhan helped raised funds by selling delicious home-cooked meals, such as a New York Cheesecake, cupcakes, nasi lemak and so on served with drink such as Ribena with nata coco; & root beer. Honsbridge’s very own head cook, Mrs. Christina also helped by donating plates of chicken chop. From this charity, Honsbridge have managed to raise $407.95.
Proceeds from the charity will go to World Vision Malaysia. World Vision is an international humanitarian organisation dedicated to working with children and families to overcome extreme poverty and injustice. The organisation works to promote human transformation, seek justice for the oppressed and demonstrate the love or all peoples. World Vision serves all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.
As the Christmas bash draws to a close, Honsbridge gave congratulations to Honnets for their hard work and dedication, not only for the Christmas bash, but overall, in excelling at the school throughout 2016. Honnets will spend December either vacationing in winter in other countries or visit relatives for the holidays.

We at Honsbridge are having a great time signing off the school term with a Christmas bash. We look forward to a better, more awesome 2017.
