SUNWAY UNIVERSITY STUDY TRIP BY HONSBRIDGE

Last Friday on June 2nd 2017, Honsbridge went on a study trip to the Sunway University at Bandar Sunway. Honnets from Year 10 and Year 11 are brought along with the teachers to the University. Their mission: To explore a new world beyond the school; to seek out what’s life like in a university; and to boldly peek into their future ahead.




Around 60 students left in two separate buses at about 8am. When they arrived at Sunway U, they were greeted by the student council of the University. The Honnets then proceed to the auditorium to learn more about Sunway University, the courses it will offer and the educational pathway the university will provide for them.




Sunway University provides programs for entry into higher education in Australia, Canada, US and UK. Honnets who’ve studied in Cambridge-based education and succeeded in IGCSE exams at Honsbridge have the advantage if they choose to further their studies at Sunway University.









Soon, the Honnets attended the Business Workshop. Concepts and applications used in business were taught to the Honnets. They get to relate to business by playing games similar to Monopoly and other business-related activities. Through these activities, the Honnets learn to trade, buy and sell within the markets. Concepts they’ve learned includes cashflow, accounting, demand & supply within economics, marketing and management.

After that, there’s a prize giving to winners of the games. The Honnets then had a group photo at the foyer of Sunway University.




At the end of the study trip, Honsbridge greets farewell to Sunway University. We gift the university with a hamper as a token of appreciation for sponsoring the venue for the Honsbridge International 8th Speech Day 2017 at the Jeffrey Cheah Auditorium. In return, Sunway University gave the Honnets lunch packs and drinks for the return journey.




We finally boarded the bus and depart at 12:00pm back to Honsbridge.

So what have the Honnets learned from the Sunway University trip?

The Honnets learned and experienced a day in a life as university students. It is in our hope that should the Honnets choose Sunway University as their next step, they would bring with them their experience and pride from Honsbridge.
