Over the weekends from 21 st September onwards, Honsbridge organizes a roadshow at Sunway Giza in Kota Damansara where we promote Honsbridge International for new intakes. We set our booth right outside the Village Grocer where shoppers pass by often. Day and night we work tirelessly to promote our learning centre, despite strong winds and technical difficulties. Malaysians from all over, including parents, drop by our booth intrigued by what we have to offer. We offer the best Cambridge IGCSE and O Levels this side of Kota Damansara, including the Express IGCSE, where Honnets can study and learn within the span of 2.5 years instead of the usual 4, faster and more efficient than typical schools. Honsbridge also offers extracurricular activities such as dance clubs, field trips, camp, Sports Day, music, games and many more! The past few days since 3rd of July sees our fellow Honnets training for the Debate Competition of 2017. This training is overseen by Mr Bakhtiar, who guides the Honnets into improving their presentation skills and confidence for the upcoming debate. Before training began, the Honnets were introduced to the format preferred by many debate competition known as the British Parliamentary Style. What is a British Parliamentary (BP) style Debate? A BP debate, which lasts five or seven minutes, consists of two sides: The Government and The Opposition. The all sides are split into four factions: 1. Opening Government (first faction): Prime Minister Deputy Prime Minister 2. Opening Opposition (second faction): Leader of the Opposition Deputy Leader of the Opposition 3. On the 5 th of July, Honsbridge organised lessons on how to deliver a great speech by a guest instructor, Mr Ranjinath Muniandy. Present are some Honnets along with Mr Sandeep and Mr Bakhtiar. The objective of this lesson is to help Honnets improve their presentation skills in preparation for the Debate Competition. Each Honnet volunteer to deliver a speech based on any subject of their choice and Mr. Ranjinath, Mr. Sandeep and Mr. Bakhtiar will provide comments on how to improve their presentation. The highlight of the lesson is Wan Hariz, who presents a moving speech on depression and how he overcomes it by helping those in need. Mr. Ranjinath, Mr. Sandeep and Mr. Bakhtiar gave commendations, as well as comments on how to improve on his speech. Last Friday on June 2 nd 2017, Honsbridge went on a study trip to the Sunway University at Bandar Sunway. Honnets from Year 10 and Year 11 are brought along with the teachers to the University. Their mission: To explore a new world beyond the school; to seek out what’s life like in a university; and to boldly peek into their future ahead. Around 60 students left in two separate buses at about 8am. When they arrived at Sunway U, they were greeted by the student council of the University. The Honnets then proceed to the auditorium to learn more about Sunway University, the courses it will offer and the educational pathway the university will provide for them. Sunway University provides programs for entry into higher education in Australia, Canada, US and UK. Honnets who’ve studied in Cambridge-based education and succeeded in IGCSE exams at Honsbridge have the advantage if they choose to further their studies at Sunway University. ...

Last Saturday night on 28 th May 2017, Honsbridge held the best 8th Speech Day ever at the Sunway University. Inspired by the Oscars, we rolled out the red carpet for Honnets, their parents and the staff of Honsbridge, celebrating our school’s success. The Honnets and teachers dressed in the finest of clothes, appearing not unlike the celebrities of Hollywood. They took selfies and pictures at the photo booth while signed their well-wishes and names on the art board. There was joy, laughter and balloons everywhere. Inside Jeffrey Cheah Hall, the 8 th Speech Day began with a welcome speech presented by Ms Emma Furze. In her speech, Ms Emma gave her congratulations to all graduates. Just because Honsbridge produce the best and brightest kids, doesn’t mean the school is lacking great talent! This 28 th April 2017, Honsbridge is putting a spotlight on the Honnets by hosting her own Talent Show. Honnets from all over Honsbridge showcase their talents in music, performance, comedy, indie, comedy and wushu. The judges who presided over these talents are Mr Dom, Mr Bakhtiar, Mrs Pat, Mr Leong and Ms Izyani. The Honnets have been practicing for weeks, most of their time teaming up with their fellow Honnets, to prepare for their auditions. Their collaboration together proved that teamwork makes talent work. In their auditions, the Honnets uses a variety of instruments such as keyboards, violins, ukuleles, and guitars to play a variety of modern hits by singers such as Selena Gomez and classics such as Fools Rush In.
